Tiny Tin of Jingmai - 2014 Sheng Puerh Tea
This is a 10g sample of tea we sourced on our first sourcing trip. These tins were originally sold in a set. We had a lot of this tin left over and are making it available for sale now. It is blend of young and old tree Spring material from Jingmai.
The old growth tea forests of Jingmai ( pronounced 'jing my' ) are nothing short of idyllic. These ancient forests border Burma and hide smuggler trade routes still in use today. The biodiversity of the region and the nearly untainted old world methods and rituals of tea cultivation and harvesting make this area unique among world tea production. Large tea trees planted before Columbus discovered the Americas are commonplace.
The tin seals tight and is reusable.
This is a generous tea and can be brewed more than 10 times. Use 5-10 grams of leaves and brew with 75-150ml ( 2.5-5oz ) of water at or near boiling. Rinse twice for a few seconds each. Start with quick steeps under 10s. With each re-steep adjust the steep time to your taste.
