When we first saw these beautiful gaiwans with classic Chinese dragon designs we fell in love. We know you'll love them too!

The ceramic process used to create the unique color in celadon clayware has been used in China for more than a thousand years. Iron oxide transforms the glaze into the blue grey green color. The cracking effect ("crazing") is unique and gives each gaiwan personality.

At 120ml these are perfect for brewing for individual use or with a friend. The mouth is wide and thin and is easy to pour without being too hot for your fingers.

The gaiwan measures 10.5cm Wide by 9cm Tall. The plate is 12.5cm Wide and 2.5cm Tall.

Tea Towel and Travel Bag

We are offering embroidered bags and a tea towel for $10 more. You can wrap the gaiwan saucer, bowl, and lid in the tea towel and carry it in the bag. This is how we carry these around for tea tastings and it makes for a real efficient travel setup. You can see in the pictures how to wrap it up.

Place the gaiwan saucer on the tea towel.

Fold the towel over the saucer and place the gaiwan bowl.

Fold the towel over the gaiwan bowl and add the inverted lid.

Fold the remaining towel over the top.

Set the gaiwan and towel in the bag and wrap up the sides

Now you are ready to go! This works great for travel.
