Spring 2017 "Jinggu Bàng" Sheng / Raw Puerh from Crimson Lotus Tea
This tea is a fantastic representative of Jinggu area material. We were very pleased to find this tea this year. We were equally pleased to work with the talented Du Xi ( 杜溪 ); a local Kunming artist. He created the original artwork which we adapted to the puerh cake.
Chinese mythology wouldn't be complete without the antics of the Monkey King, "Sun Wukong", and his magical staff the "Jīngū Bàng". He received this mythical weapon from the Dragon King of the East Sea. In the painting the Monkey King is doing battle with the Jingu Bang against Erlang Shen and his dog Xiàotiān quǎn.

Each tong is bamboo wrapped by hand and contains five 200g cakes.
"Jinggu Bang is a sheng puer for those who prefer a clean vegetal leaning taste. It has a pleasing amount of bitterness, some thickness, and aftertaste. It is certainly energizing yet focused with the chill energy. Jinggu Bang has a little of everything and a solid puer tea"
Use 5-10 grams of leaves and brew with 75-150ml ( 2.5-5oz ) of water at or near boiling. Rinse once for a few seconds. Start with quick steeps under 10s. With each re-steep adjust the steep time to your taste.
